Testimony
Several years ago, a very close friend of mine, Eva, strung together
a bracelet for me made from glass beads she had picked up on a trip
to Alaska. Every time that I wore that bracelet, I was reminded
of the thoughtfulness of my dear friend. One morning as I read my
bible, I looked at my wrist and thought of my friend. I breathed
a word of prayer for her. I reflected on how often I was reminded
of my friend just by looking at my bracelet. I prayed, "Lord what
if each time that I looked at my wrist I thought of one of your
promises?" The Spirit took hold of that thought and what came next
was my first bracelet "The Beaded
Word, Life of Christ".
The
bracelet evolved and became a summary of the birth, life, and death
of our Lord Christ. The colors used in the bracelet represent those
events that unfolded. Other bracelets followed and before long,
I was ministering to small women's groups through invitations to
see my bracelets. Many people purchase bracelets for themselves
but end up giving them away. What a blessing! People choose to give
away what they have bought for themselves because the message is
so powerful that it creates in them a need to share it with others.
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass
away." Matthew 24:35
God
speaks to us about his power, love, compassion, and guidance in
His word. His word is truth. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth
and the life…". How often has a friend come to you in need?
We try to guide and counsel to the best of our ability through our
knowledge based on personal experiences. However, how many times
have you questioned your counsel? When you lead your friends by
the word of God, you walk in truth. You are giving credit to the
author of life and it is His words that will encourage your friend
in need. You don't need to reach out with a bracelet, key chain,
book mark, or any other novelty. You just need to "reach out". The
Beaded Word bracelets are not to be used as talismans. They are
just meant to serve as reminders.
